What happens to Email add. when person dies !!!

A very strange question, clicked in my mind in the morning when i was checking my email. I was feeling a bit sleepy as usual and suddenly it clicked...

Life is very unpredictable.. you never know which will be your last moment.. what happens to email boxes getting up the important mails which person waited whole life after the death.. the email remains whole secret and also dies with the person..

I mean.. since death is not know.. you can not even send the "out of office" kind of auto replys (may be out of life)..

The email providers should start the facility of giving the passwords to their heir similarly as given to son or daughter after the person's death.. atleast the secret can be unleashed....may be this kind of blogs will be a good way to immortalize person's thoughts, believes and dreams..

but again .. wht do u think abt email stuff ?? Have you ever thought abt it ?

yeah I have thought about it...
but I guess it is not a fair idea,I feel the person has the right to take his secrets to his deathbead :P

Look how pessimistic all of us are...even I thot abt it long back. But its not a prob in my case, coz theres one person on this planet who can answer my security question and find my password if i really happen to die. and he'll surely do that id i die. my security question is "who is ur best friend?" and the answer is his very name. I dont think the e-mail providers shud worry about this...

sahi likha hai. If it is a co-orporate email then companies take over it.
However if its on public domain then whether it shud be unleashed to his relatives or not remains a debatable question.
The reason is, it can contain his private emails which he dint want to share with anyone. And I doubt his relatives would need it.
On the other hand, if the email is been used as a verification on some commercial sites or banks then it could turn out to be a hassle. For a bank I guess, it wouldnt be a problem to pass on the locker keys to his relatives but what about those private commercial sites ?

I've thought about this a lot lately, being faced with my own personal End Time. Then I realized, who cares? Who would care what's in my email accounts? That thought was followed closely by another: why worry?
